Expressive Ceramics with Abril Barajas

This class is for students of all experience levels who are looking to expand their creative practice and learn more about creative handbuilding in clay. Over the course of two weeks, students will learn basic ceramic processes including designing, building, glazing, firing, and problem-solving with the goal of completing one ceramic-dominant project. By the end of this class students will take home a unique sculptural piece along with new ways to think and talk about art. In addition to exploring process and technique, we will ask ourselves and each other about our individual goals and interests in the art world, talk about art that inspires us, and think about the kind of artists we would like to be and become. Beginners welcome!
